What Did You Do to Ring In 2023?

New Years in Athens always offers plenty of event options to choose from. This year, we were asked back a second time to capture the essence of the night at Cloud.

 

2-for-1 Celebration

In Dawg Nation, New Years offered a 2-for-1 deal where fans not only were able to ring in the new year but were able to enjoy watching the dawgs battle it out on the field with Ohio State in the Peach Bowl! They certainly did not disappoint.
 
At the stroke of midnight, the dawgs pulled out an exciting 42-41 win over the Buckeyes, securing their ticket to the National Championship for a 2nd year in a row! When Ohio missed their field goal attempt and the balloons started dropping, the entire place just went nuts – a scene that was most likely playing out at other clubs and venues around Athens. What a way to ring in 2023!
 

The Party

Cloud always knows how to throw one hell of a party, and NYE was no exception. They had some killer drink specials, a sold out VIP section, and DJ’s pumping out tunes to keep the club dancing. It was a great vibe and experience to be a part of.

The Perfect Christmas: The Show

Are You Ready to Get Into the Holiday Spirit?

We work a lot of live events, but I believe this is the first Christmas-specific event we’ve captured.
 
The Perfect Christmas was held at the historic Morton Theatre on Saturday, December 10, 2022, featuring fashion, comedy, live music from the Harpo’o Holiday Band, and more… a little bit of something for everyone to help give folks some holiday cheer!

We love playing with the green screen, and filming the visuals for, Take It To The Streets, was no exception. This track is off Ishues’ new album, Legacy, produced by the legendary Sol Messiah, dropped on Friday, December 9, 2022.

Get ready Athens! You are about to have your very own mobile sound system speaker stack available for bookings!!
 
Comprised of some of my favorite people, Indigo Sound was created by JiiG, DJ Bobfish, and Shakti Sound. Maybe you’ve heard of them, maybe you haven’t, but all three are great DJs.
 
So, when I was asked to come and grab some snaps of their newly minted stack to help promote their new endeavor, I was more than stoked.
 
Indigo Sound has some really big things on the horizon, but don’t miss the opportunity to catch their vibe live on New Year’s Eve at Creature Comforts!

Current Rage at 378 Gallery

Current Rage in ATL!
 
We had another great opportunity to come and capture Current Rage LIVE at their show at 378 Gallery in Atlanta, GA, on Saturday, November 19, 2022.
 
We have never been to 378 Gallery, but what a neat little spot located near Candler Park! Upstairs boasts a really cool art gallery, with a performance space downstairs. It was a really great venue for the Current Rage show, offering a super intimate vibe for fans who have waited nearly 40 years to hear the band live once again.
 
The show began with The Frigidaires, a surf/hot rod combo band, taking the stage and warming things up! This was our first time hearing the band play, and I have to say, you are missing out if you don’t know about them! They killed their set and were a fantastic way to open the night.
 
Next up, Current Rage! They had an amazing show and we were so grateful to be there to capture history in the making. The band has a lot of big plans coming up, so be sure to connect with them via Facebook and Instagram to get updates on their upcoming performances so you can catch them live. Kids At Play – Jacksonville, FL

We had the awesome opportunity to work with Kids At Play in Jacksonville Beach, Florida! Right before Thanksgiving, we packed up our gear, and our pup, and began our adventure.
 
Kids At Play is a unique organization focusing on a child-led approach to learning, giving special attention to each child’s individual journey of experiencing the world. The program is available to children ages 6 weeks old up to 4 years old, and offers a variety of opportunities for outdoor play, and engaging and interactive learning to facilitate whole-child development.
 

Show Time

 
Our shoot was scheduled to coincide with the Praise Friday session, where classes are brought outdoors to allow the kids to move freely from station to station and experience different activities. On this particular Friday morning, while a bit chilly, the sun was shining with a slight breeze, making for an excellent day to get outdoors, get some fresh air, and to of course PLAY!
 
We had a blast capturing moments from the class. Plus, it was fun getting to interact with the kids and see all their smiling faces as they went about, enjoying their morning.

While Kids At Play doesn’t have locations in Georgia, this organization is worth checking out if you know anyone in the Jacksonville Beach, Florida area that has kids and is looking for a program to get them enrolled in.

Wired n’ Weird with CDJ Band at Live Wire

Did you catch CDJ Band’s last Wired n’ Weird Show on Wednesday, November 9, 2022?
 
I’ll start by saying, it’s always a pleasure working with Cam and His Dam Jam Band. No matter how many shows I attend, they have all been excellent and you just never know who they’ll pull up onstage to jam out with them.
 
On this occasion, I had the great pleasure and opportunity to come out to capture their last Wired n’ Wired Wednesday show series at Live Wire! If you missed this show, don’t worry – they are working on some big things and will have several shows lined up for 2023!

Tire Fire Recording Session at Full Moon Studio

Tire Fire is at it again, laying down some tracks in the studio for a new, upcoming album!
 
We were super stoked to have the opportunity to work with Trey and the members of Tire Fire on this project, but also excited to have an intimate sneak peak into tracks that will debut on their new upcoming album (title to be disclosed at a later date).
 
It is always a delight to be in the recording studio with artists while they assemble their masterpieces. Plus, we also enjoy the opportunity to film in the very moody space at Full Moon Studio! Something about the decor just puts you in a creative vibe, no matter what kind of music you’re lay’n down.

Current Rage at Flicker

Do you know about Current Rage?
 
If you don’t know about Current Rage, it could be that’s because they are just now making a come back after nearly four decades! If you’ve never had the opportunity to hear their music, they are best known for their short, post-punk catchy tunes and dark-wave surf instrumentals.
 
This show, held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, was their 40th Anniversary album release of “Seven Songs”, where they performed each song live for the first time in literally 40 years. To set the vibe and warm-up the crowd were sets by DJ Nate and the Curbside Pickups.
 
We had a great time at the show and were honored that the band had us come out to capture their historical night!

Cam and His Dam Jam Band at 40 Watt

Cam and His Dam Jam Band were at it again with another groovy show at the iconic 40 Watt!
 
The CDJ Band opened up for The Orange Constant on Saturday, November 5, 2022. This was the second of three gigs on the schedule for us this particular day. Unfortunately, I was wasn’t able to stay and capture the magic from The Orange Constant’s set, but I’m sure it was fire.
